Effective Solutions for Removing Bacterial Pathogens During Food Processing

Removing bacterial pathogens during food processing is critically important [1]. We offer two innovative phage-based products that help eliminate pathogenic bacteria, Salmonella and E. coli, from meat, eggs, and poultry production processes.

Our food safety products use bacteriophage technology to reduce harmful food pathogens.

  • They do not affect organoleptic properties of treated poultry
  • Are safe for humans, and leaves no residue
  • Prevent cross contamination
  • Are non-corrosive
  • Can be tailored to support multiple food processing environments
  • Have been developed and are produced in the USA by OmniLytics

These products are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) and have been reviewed by FDA and FSIS.

Our goal in developing these products is to solve the growing concern over the chemical treatments used in food processing as well as to reduce the risk of increased bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Our applications of bacteriophage technology provide outstanding control of bacterial contamination with no harmful side effects on humans, animals, plants, and even insects, as well as the beneficial microflora of the microbiome.

Our US subsidiary, OmniLytics, has developed and is continuing to test products that help solve many food and water safety issues caused by E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella. Our technology is already used widely in the United States and around the world. We successfully remove Salmonella from poultry processing and potential E. coli contamination on beef prior to processing.

Furthermore, in protein production, we have products that remove food safety pathogens as well as productivity reducing bacterial contamination, during the animal life cycle, improving animal well-being and increasing production efficiency.
